2.____the American people disapproved of McCarthy’s investigation

3.____Bobby Kennedy liked McCarthy so much, he made him the godfather of his first child in 1951

4.____McCarthy was responsible for the blacklisting of numerous actors and directors

5.____McCarthy was a supporter of Civil Rights

6.____John Kennedy called McCarthy an “American patriot”

Answers

FALSE. McCarthy was in the Senate he had nothing to do with HUAC. McCarthy worked for the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigation.

FALSE. McCarthy’s approval rating for outing loyalty risks in the federal government ran upwards of 63% by the American people. When McCarthy died at age 48, 30,000 Americans waited outside the funeral home to say good-bye.

TRUE. Bobby Kennedy had worked for McCarthy and admired him.

FALSE. McCarthy’s investigation had nothing to do with communist sympathizers in Hollywood.

TRUE. McCarthy campaigned in black neighborhoods as much as in white.

TRUE. When the vote on McCarthy’s censure came up, Kennedy was absent.

Name calling is one of liberals favorite tactics to shut down dialogue. When it comes to using names that have historical roots, accusing someone of McCarthyism is second only to calling someone who disagrees with them a Nazi. Question the truth of a liberal’s statements and they say you are on a witch hunt, a.ka. McCarthy style. The problem is a close examination of history shows McCarthy was not the villain he has been painted to be. The lie is perpetuated from high school textbooks to college lectures. You know what they say about a lie that is repeated enough.

If you want to know more about the real McCarthy, read Ann Coulter’s Treason where I got this information.
